In my modestly small circle of friends and acquaintances, I know too many women who have suffered from, are fighting, or have survived breast cancer. Relatives, friends, co-workers, friend of friends…it seems overwhelming. According to research from the National Breast Cancer Foundation, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. But there are more than 3.1 million breast cancer survivors in the United States today. Whether this is due to better awareness of the early signs of breast cancer, the increased funding for research, and the support systems that foundations like Susan G. Komen provide, we can have hope that more and more women will live rewarding lives after being diagnosed with this cancer.
To help, we are donating 50% of the proceeds on the sale of our Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Necklaces to Susan G. Komen ww5.komen.org.
These lovely necklaces are hand crocheted with exquisite ladder yarn from Turkey and Italy.Several shades of pink and the silver lurex thread running through the weave add dimension and sparkle.
